Mugwort, Artemesia vulgaris. Dried, 4 ounces. Mugwort has many uses. It was traditionally used in beer making as a bittering agent before hops became the standard. Mugwort does have a bitter taste, but some people enjoy it as a tea. It is often used in bitters recipes for digestive stimulation. It has also been used in traditional European, Chinese, and Hindu medicine and was called the “mother of herbs” in the Middle Ages. Modern scientific studies have found it to have many beneficial properties such as antioxidant, hepatoprotective, antispasmolytic, antibacterial, antifungal and more.
